You Are Enough

For most of my life, I have always felt that I was never tall enough, never thin enough, never cool enough to wear certain things. Wide leg pants was on that long list of things.

Until now…

Ever since I made the transition to a mostly monochromatic wardrobe, I have found that getting dressed has been so much easier and faster. Shopping has also been way more fun and purposeful since I just focus on the black items on the racks or I can just filter by color when I’m browsing online. I also feel that because my lens is more focused when it comes to shopping, I’ve been more bold and willing to try new silhouettes like midi-dresses (which for a long time, I felt that I was too short for), jumpsuits, boyfriend jeans and wide leg pants.  And while I still have found the right jumpsuit for me or my perfect pair of boyfriend jeans, I have now found a pair of wide leg pants that I want to live in for the Summer.

So here I am telling you (yes, you!) that you are enough. That you can and you will find that perfect-for-you something. That you don’t have to settle for something ill-fitting just because it’s on sale or just because it’s available now. That you should also remember tailoring (I took about 5-inches off the length of these pants). That you shouldn’t feel bad for returning something you don’t absolutely love. That you should hold out for that something that makes you feel like a million bucks. You are enough, and you deserve the best.

I’m so glad that I held onto a few non-black items to plug and play with my pretty basic and now mostly monochromatic wardrobe. This graphic tee was a favorite last summer so I’m happy that it’s out of storage and can add a wee bit of color to my outfits. I also couldn’t get rid of my denim jacket since it’s such a staple for any wardrobe. Not gonna lie: I’m totally feelin’ myself in this outfit. These wide leg pants are seriously one of the most comfortable things in my wardrobe and are going to be perfect for the upcoming hot summer days.
