I don’t know what it is about this Summer but I’m finding myself straying away from denim. I’ve been more drawn to easy, flowy dresses and loose trousers that resemble pajama bottoms. Maybe it’s because of the relentless heat or nonchalant laziness or a combination of both. Whatever it is though, I’ve been loving experimenting with different looks other than my usual uniform of skinny jeans, ankle boots, and some sort of top.
Even though this look isn’t too different from the norm, these trousers bring me a little closer to achieving the ideal minimalistic wardrobe. After doing much research and pinning on Pinterest (you can follow along with me here), I spent days looking (and not settling, may I add) for a good pair of trousers that would fit in with the rest of my capsule wardrobe. I knew I wanted a pair that were straight legged, had pockets, were a little cropped around the ankle, and had an elastic wasitband for ultimate comfort. This pair from UO ticked off all those AND they were on sale (double win!). I know that these will stay in my all-year-round wardrobe of basics along with this striped top and my beloved Stan Smiths. I can’t wait to style these pants with sweaters and boots when the weather gets colder.
