October Outtakes

October was simultaneously the best and worst month–rapidly shifting and taking unexpected turns. We experienced the highest highs and the lowest lows. To say it was a roller coaster would be an understatement. With our high pressure jobs, we often are working long hours and working off of fumes to meet strict deadlines. We sought refuge during the weekends, which seem to be the only time we can relax and make plans. Due to our natural instinct to document our moments together, we are fortunate to have these photos as a reminder that no matter how bad things got at work, a weekend of fun was always just around the corner.

This month, we also realized that our blog isn’t just a collection of pretty images to look at and appreciate; but rather, each post is a set of images that have been carefully curated to show our point of view and the highlights of our travel and adventures. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes of each post: images that don’t make the cut; memories, thoughts, and feelings that get left unshared. Because of the wild ride this month has been, it was bittersweet revisiting these pictures and the memories that went with them. It is for this reason that we look forward to these monthly photo diaries. When we conceived the idea of this blog on our flight back from San Francisco in early September, we ultimately just wanted a creative space to explore and to escape from the stress of our jobs. It has become just that and so much more. Through the hard times of our personal lives, we are thankful just how much the community has embraced us and kept our spirits high. We feel like we’ve finally found our stride here and are so excited to continue this journey together.

  2. somehow, we really grow into more “mature bloggers” if you can call it that. i've taken a fondness of the local scene and have started incorporating spots within my city now (aside from the fashion). I'm totally loving the point of view of your blog now, jasmine!!
